Functionally Active Peptide Screens with Pooled Peptide Libraries
Cellecta also provides a novel pooled lentiviral library screening approach to functionally screen hundreds of thousands of bioactive peptide compounds in a single cell-based assay. Based on our peptide screening platform that specifically identifies peptides with functional activity (such as the ability to kill cells or activate a pathway), this powerful technology can be used to directly discover potential therapeutic peptides.
Combining pooled lentiviral peptide libraries, FACS sorting of reporter cell lines demonstrating modulation of specific signaling pathways, and HT sequencing for identification of enriched peptides offers a unique, cost-effective alternative to small molecule libraries for drug discovery. The peptide screening service is similar to the RNAi screening. With peptide screening, Cellecta can create libraries expressing thousands of various defined peptide sequences, transduce these into cells, select for a particular phenotype (e.g., cell death), and identify peptides that produce the specific phenotype. The peptide libraries can be constructed based on a particular consensus in a protein, incorporate variations on a natural ligand, or reflect any other rational or random designs.
Cellecta can provide you a full-scale screening or simply construct and build peptide libraries for your in-house use. For more information on the technology behind Cellecta's pooled peptide libraries, visit the Peptide Library Technology page.
